The same card, fob, or PIN works across wired and wireless openings. Issue once, and it lands on the Axis controllers and the Schlage locks that the cardholder's access levels reach.

Which Schlage locks does Cube Access support?
The Schlage ENGAGE wireless lockset families behind a 410 IP gateway: NDE cylindrical, LE mortise, Control deadbolt and interconnected locks, and the XE360 mortise, tubular, and exit-trim series. Both the standard and the -B (Bluetooth LE) variants are covered.
Do I need a separate server, panel, or appliance for the wireless locks?
No. The Axis network door controller that already drives your wired openings also acts as the secure on-site bridge to the ENGAGE gateway. There is no dedicated PC, head-end panel, or virtual machine to deploy on site.
Do the locks still work if the internet or network goes down?
Yes. Cube Access pushes the credential set, schedules, and holidays down to each lock, and the lock makes the grant / deny decision on-board. An outage does not stop people getting through their doors. Events buffer at the gateway and drain into the audit trail once the link is back.
How many wireless locks can one ENGAGE gateway handle?
Up to 10 locksets per 410 IP gateway. The gateway must sit on the same local network segment as the Axis controller acting as its bridge; sites with several network segments use one bridging controller per segment.
Can the same credential open both wired and wireless doors?
Yes — that is the point of the integration. Cardholders, credentials, and access levels live once in Cube Access. Assigning someone to an access level provisions them onto every opening it covers, whether that opening is an Axis-controlled wired door or a Schlage wireless lock.
How do I enroll a card?
Present the card at a door and Cube Access reads the exact bits back from the reader, so the credential is captured correctly regardless of card format — no format picker, no guesswork on bit length. Cards can also be entered manually from a card number, facility code, and bit length.
How many credentials fit on a wireless lock?
Up to 5,000 credentials on NDE and LE locksets, and 2,000 on Control. Cube Access shows the per-lock count so you can see how much headroom an opening has before it becomes a problem.
Can I run schedules, holidays, and scheduled unlock on the wireless locks?
Yes. Each lock holds up to 16 loaded schedules and 32 holidays, plus auto-unlock windows for openings that should be free-access during business hours and secure outside them. Schedules and holidays are authored once in Cube Access and applied to wired and wireless openings alike.
Can lock and gateway firmware be updated remotely?
Yes. Gateway and lockset firmware are pushed over the network and can be scheduled for an off-hours window, so a firmware campaign does not mean a site visit or a hand-held programmer at every door.
Is the Allegion ENGAGE mobile app still needed?
Only for the physical commissioning step. The installer uses the ENGAGE app to commission each lock and gateway onto the site over Bluetooth and link the locks to their gateway. Everything after that — users, credentials, access levels, schedules, holidays, events, and firmware — is managed in Cube Access.
